Orthodox Catechumen Ministry (LOGOS)

 “Come and See.” (John 1:39)

LOGOS is a welcoming ministry of Holy Trinity-St Nicholas GOC, for those exploring the Orthodox Christian Faith, preparing to enter the Church through Holy Baptism or Chrismation, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of Orthodox Christianity.

The name LOGOS points to Jesus Christ, the eternal Word of God, through Whom all things were created and in Whom the true meaning of our life is revealed. For this reason, LOGOS is more than a class or a series of religious lessons. It invites us to encounter Christ and discover the life of His Church.

Through Scripture, Holy Tradition, worship, prayer, and open conversation, participants explore the foundations of the Orthodox Faith: the Holy Trinity, creation and the human person, the Nicene Creed, salvation and theosis, the Divine Liturgy and the Holy Sacraments, the history of the Church, and the practice of Christian life in today’s world.

The deeper purpose of this ministry is not merely to learn Orthodox terminology or customs, but to begin a journey of healing, spiritual transformation, and communion with God. Orthodox Christianity is not understood only through study. It is gradually discovered through prayer, participation in the Divine Liturgy, the rhythm of the Church’s feasts, and life within the parish community.

Meetings are conversational, welcoming, and shaped by the questions of those who attend. No previous knowledge is necessary, and there is never any pressure. Every sincere question is welcome.

LOGOS meets on Sundays following the Divine Liturgy, at approximately 12:00 PM, for a relaxed 40-minute gathering with coffee and conversation.

Come and experience the living Faith of the Orthodox Church.
