Our Parish

Welcome to Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Staten Island, NY!

The Greek Orthodox Church of Holy Trinity – St. Nicholas is a Parish under the spiritual and ecclesiastical shepherding of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople.

A Living Beacon of Faith on Staten Island

Rooted in the sacred traditions of the Eastern Orthodox Church and illuminated by the life and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Trinity – St. Nicholas is more than just the only Greek Orthodox Church on Staten Island—it is a spiritual home for all people seeking truth, purpose, and communion with God.

Here, faith is not static or historical alone—it is alive. We are a Parish committed to living Orthodoxy in the present moment, offering ancient wisdom for modern lives. Our Church stands as a lighthouse in an ever-changing world, shining with the grace and truth of Christ.

Our Mission: A Place to Encounter Christ

Our sacred calling is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and to guide every soul into a living, transformative relationship with Him. Through vibrant liturgical worship, the beauty of the sacraments, spiritual education, and acts of mercy and love, we strive to fulfill the command of the Lord:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)

Our Parish is not a closed circle but a growing and welcoming family—inviting all, Greek and non-Greek, lifelong Orthodox or newly searching, into the fullness of life in Christ.

Our Vision: Christ-Centered, People-Focused

We envision a Church that remains faithful to the Apostolic tradition, yet responds with love and courage to the spiritual needs of today’s world. Our hope is to be a Christ-centered Community that brings together generations and cultures—where families are strengthened, children are nurtured, and hearts are healed.

We embrace technology, outreach, and pastoral care—not as compromises, but as tools of love that help us reach the weary, the curious, the hungry, and the lonely with the unchanging message of the Gospel. We hold tightly to the sacred while opening our arms widely to the world.

The Orthodox Church Today: Living, Breathing, Transforming

In a time of spiritual noise and cultural confusion, Holy Trinity – St. Nicholas remains grounded in eternal truth and open to the Spirit’s movement in our time. We are not a relic of the past—we are the living “Body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:27), gathering in prayer and unity to be His presence in the world.

From Sunday Divine Liturgy to weekday ministries, from catechism classes to community service, from moments of quiet prayer to the joy of our feast days, everything we do points toward one goal: the sanctification of life and preparation for the Kingdom of God.

Our Sacred Responsibility on Staten Island

As the only Greek Orthodox parish on Staten Island, we bear a beautiful responsibility—to preserve, embody, and share the treasures of Orthodox Christianity with all who seek God.

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” (John 7:37)

We believe many are spiritually thirsty—thirsty for meaning, connection, healing, and truth. We open our hearts and doors to all people, trusting that in Christ, every soul can find rest and renewal.

The Diakonia of the Parish: Serving God and Neighbor

The mission of our parish is not simply inward—it is outward. Guided by the principles set forth in our Orthodox tradition, we are called to evangelize, to catechize, to serve, and to grow. In the words of our Church’s regulations, our purpose includes:

“Proclaiming the Gospel in accordance with the Orthodox Faith, sanctifying the faithful through God’s grace in worship and sacraments, and adding to their numbers by instructing and receiving others through Baptism and Chrismation. To catechize, to educate, and to implement ministries of love and service.”

This is not theory—it is life. And we invite you to be part of it.

Come and See: Our Hope in Christ

Whether you are a lifelong Orthodox Christian, new to the Faith, or simply searching for something deeper, we invite you to experience the joy and peace of Orthodoxy. “Come and see” (John 1:39) the beauty of our worship, the depth of our teaching, the warmth of our fellowship, and the presence of Christ in every moment.

Together, as the Body of Christ, let us grow in faith, walk in love, and become the light of the world—right here on Staten Island.

Come. Worship. Learn. Belong.
Christ is here—and He is calling you!
